Job Summary
Jail Services is committed to assisting inmates released from jail facilities successfully reenter the community through a comprehensive level of supervision and care.
This position will be responsible for performing comprehensive assessments of inmates’ needs which contribute to criminogenic behavior and recidivism risk and will develop a discharge plan that addresses the identified needs, with the desired outcomes of reducing recidivism risk. Areas of concern will include mental health and co-occurring disorders and could include other factors including but not limited to substance abuse, lack of basic social and employment skills and other psychosocial issues that contribute to criminogenic behavior and recidivism. The incumbents will be responsible for developing Individual Reentry Plans (IRP) in collaboration with the client, and coordinating services or resources associated with achieving outcomes documented in the IRP. A high level of self-direction, organization and work efficiency is a requirement for this classification. This position is exempt and non-represented.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in social work, nursing, counseling psychology, mental health counseling, behavioral sciences, or related field is required plus at least two (2) years of experience in a community/social service agency. Master’s preferred. The degree must have been conferred by an institution of higher education and have National Recognition of Accrediting Agencies by the U.S. Secretary of Education, and official transcripts will be required at the time of hire. Licensure in the State of Washington in compliance with WAC 246-809 as a counseling professional highly preferred, but candidates who currently are registered as Agency Affiliated Counselors in Washington may be considered for the position if eligible for licensure. Proof of credentials will be required.
