Job Purpose
The Director of the Honors ARCH Program is responsible for the development, oversight, management, and operations of the program. The primary focus of this position is to create and coordinate a scholar’s program that attracts and retains highly capable students at the College of Charleston. Working with campus partners, the director will coordinate course offerings, develop meaningful programming, and recruit students to the program.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience in program development and management, preferably in higher education. Significant experience with digital marketing, data analysis and interpretation, and project management. Master’s degree preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have leadership and management experience and skills focused on student program development and execution, as well as, demonstrated ability to work across silos and between multiple entities to achieve stated goals or objectives. Possess independent judgment and initiative and be willing to learn about higher education policies and best practices. Must have skills in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives. Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and management skills. Must possess a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite, Google programs, Canva, and social media outlets. Strong customer service orientation and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the College with a diverse student body, faculty, staff is also required.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
The position is a 37.5-hour per week job. Must have flexibility to adjust regular hours on the weekends and evenings to supervise programming activities and attend key events for the ARCH program and the Honors College.

Develop meaningful programming (community building, professional and personal development) for each class of ARCH Scholars that embodies community, professionalism, and engagement. Design and execute events, plan and manage budget, and carry out all administrative, marketing, and communication duties associated with events. Work in tandem with the Dean of the Honors College to coordinate opportunities for ARCH Scholars.

Work closely with the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Planning and the Associate Director of Honors College Admissions to select and enroll each new class of ARCH Scholars. Maintain program website and develop communication strategies and materials to attract scholars to the program. Use data analytics to guide admissions decisions. Coordinate with the Office of University Marketing on communication and marketing efforts and with New Student Programs on orientation.

Activity
Oversee the coordination of curricular offerings for the ARCH Scholars. Work with the Office of the First-Year Experience and the academic schools to ensure courses are being offered that meet the needs of the ARCH program. Manage course eligibility and ARCH program enrollment through the enterprise resource planning system (Banner). Serve as program contact for prospective and current students.
