The City of Naperville’s Electric Utility is currently seeking a competent and experienced Lineman to perform skilled work in installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of the electric utility system and related facilities. The Lineman – EM installs, repairs, and tests overhead high voltage electric utility lines and locates & repairs underground electric cables and also works in confined spaces and/or on or near energized equipment including but not limited to manholes, handholes, and basements.
This is a temporary role with the possibility of transition to permanent employment based on position availability and performance. Permanent employment is not guaranteed. Temporary employment is limited to a maximum of 1,000 work hours.
Duties

Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Designs and/or modifies relevant components of remodel projects within County buildings.

Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Electrician Journeyman on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.
Responsible for the maintenance, installation, alteration and repair of the electrical systems, fire alarms, equipment and fixtures throughout the College Facilities.
The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
High School Diploma or GED.
Journeyman license required.
Knowledge of construction techniques and standards and the ability to analyze and interpret blueprints.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Ability to access and use college supported software.
Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required.
This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay (currently $37.25). This fingerprinting fee is non-refundable.

Official transcripts of all collegiate work will be required to be considered beyond the application phase. *

All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
Minimum physical and environmental qualifications:
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move 50+ pounds.
Ability to stand, stoop or work in restricted spaces.
Works outside in various weather conditions and works in noisy conditions.
Works in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment.
Works occasionally inside an office and assignments may require a flexible schedule.
The annual salary is $35,000 . Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
