What is a Volunteer Support Specialist?
The Volunteer Support Specialist is responsible for duties relating to the onboarding and retention of volunteers and girl members. Responsible for implementing and assessing comprehensive year-round membership support strategies that increase girl and volunteer membership and enhance retention. Develop, cultivate, and support relationships with service unit and troop volunteers in assigned area to support delivery of Girl Scout programming.

Analysis of community needs, demographic data and membership statistics, develop, design and conduct recruitment and retention plan for youth and volunteer membership growth in designated geographic areas in coordination with membership team leadership.
Provide potential new members with a consistent message about Girl Scouting and all of the possible ways to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made in order to meet membership goal.
Establish the appropriate volunteer support team to accomplish key priorities by selecting, appointing, and coaching recruitment and community engagement volunteers in assigned geographic areas.
Support service unit development and maintenance through implementation of recruitment and support strategies.
Seek opportunities and keep in contact with local community organizations, agencies and leaders, educators, and faith-based institutions to increase awareness of Girl Scouting and support member recruitment efforts.
Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
Work collaboratively with all Council departments to ensure council program and initiatives are successfully marketed to youth and adult membership.
Provide professionally superior customer service to all internal and external customers, members, volunteers, staff and other community contacts in person, electronically and by phone.

What is an On-Call Membership Specialist?
The on-call Membership Support Specialist supports the recruitment and retention of Girl Scout volunteers and members through program delivery and logistic support of recruitment events.

Job Purpose
The Assistant Director recruits, evaluates, and counsels prospective and admitted prospective students. Assistant Directors travel extensively (10-15 weeks annually), recruit and counsel prospective and admitted students for undergraduate admission, implement efficient and effective recruitment strategies, and manage assigned recruitment territories. Assistant Directors review applicants for undergraduate admissions and are essential to the day to day functioning of the Office of Admissions (including but not limited to presentations, phone and in personal counseling, and event programming). Assistant Directors have high level programmatic responsibilities. This Assistant Director position is permanently physically located within their assigned territory and works remotely.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required and at least 2 years of admissions experience. Priority given to applicants with previous supervisory experience (student or professional) and/or recruitment experience specific to northern New Jersey, the greater New York City Metropolitan area including Long Island, or Connecticut. An understanding of admissions procedures and the college selection process and an ability to work with diverse student populations is necessary. Ability to travel for extended periods of time. Strong planning, organizing, technology, and oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and the college community. As a regional position, this Assistant Director must be a self-starter, able to work independently from remote home/office location while also functioning as part of the larger Charleston Admissions team. Must provide exemplary customer service and display enthusiasm about the College. Must be an independent decision maker, have high degree of integrity and communicate frequently with supervisors. Must possess excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. Additional Comments Regarding Position
This position serves prospective students from Northern New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. *The position will be expected to work from a home office within this territory, ideally in the northern New Jersey or New York City metropolitan region. Remote positions are expected to travel to campus 4-6 times a year. Must be able to travel extensively. Must have a valid SC or other state driver’s license.
Evening and weekend work will be required. Ability to lift and carry 40 – 60 lbs. is necessary. Experience working with CRM software (especially admissions specific CRMs like Salesforce/TargetX, Slate, etc.) and Banner products is preferred but not required.

The Assistant Director will research the territory and develop plans and strategies to increase enrollment and yield. The Assistant Director recruits, evaluates, and counsels prospective and admitted prospective students. Assistant Directors travel extensively (10-15 weeks annually), recruit and counsel prospective and admitted students for undergraduate admission, implement efficient and effective recruitment strategies, and manage assigned recruitment territories. Assistant Directors review applicants for undergraduate admissions and are essential to the day to day functioning of the Office of Admissions (including but not limited to presentations, phone and in personal counseling, and event programming). Assistant Directors have high level programmatic responsibilities. This Assistant Director position is permanently physically located within their assigned territory and works remotely.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required and at least 2 years of admissions experience. Priority given to applicants with previous supervisory experience (student or professional) and/or recruitment experience specific to northern New Jersey, the greater New York City Metropolitan area including Long Island, or Connecticut. An understanding of admissions procedures and the college selection process and an ability to work with diverse student populations is necessary. Ability to travel for extended periods of time. Strong planning, organizing, technology, and oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and the college community. As a regional position, this Assistant Director must be a self-starter, able to work independently from remote home/office location while also functioning as part of the larger Charleston Admissions team. Must provide exemplary customer service and display enthusiasm about the College. Must be an independent decision maker, have high degree of integrity and communicate frequently with supervisors. Additional Comments Regarding Position
This position serves prospective students from Northern New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. *The position will be expected to work from a home office within this territory, ideally in the northern New Jersey or New York City metropolitan region. Remote positions are expected to travel to campus 4-6 times a year. Must be able to travel extensively. Must have a valid SC or other state driver’s license.
Evening and weekend work will be required. Ability to lift and carry 40 – 60 lbs. is necessary. Experience working with CRM software (especially admissions specific CRMs like Salesforce/TargetX, Slate, etc.) and Banner products is preferred but not required.

Job Purpose
The Associate Director recruits, evaluates, and counsels prospective and admitted prospective students. Associate Directors travel extensively (10-15 weeks annually), recruit and counsel prospective and admitted students for undergraduate admission, implement recruitment strategies, and manage assigned recruitment territories. Associate Directors review applicants for undergraduate admissions. Associate Directors have both high level programmatic and supervisory responsibilities (supervision includes Admissions Counselors and/or Assistant Directors). Associate Directors work closely with leadership in the Division of Enrollment Planning to research and develop recruitment strategies to reach enrollment goals.
Minimum Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of admissions experience with supervisory experience required. Priority given to applicants with a Master’s degree. An understanding of admissions procedures and the college selection process and an ability to work with diverse student populations is necessary. Ability to travel for extended periods of time. Strong planning, organizing, technology, and oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and the college community. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must possess excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. Must have considerable knowledge, skills, and ability in computer operations, data entry, Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to work closely with the other members of the admissions staff and across campus. Highly prefer candidates that adapt well to evolving technology.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Must be able to travel extensively. Must have a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one. Evening and weekend work will be required. Ability to lift and carry 40 – 60 lbs. is
necessary. Experience working with CRM software (Salesforce/TargetX, transcript software, etc.) and SunGuard Banner products is preferred but not required.
