What is a Volunteer Support Specialist?
The Volunteer Support Specialist is responsible for duties relating to the onboarding and retention of volunteers and girl members. Responsible for implementing and assessing comprehensive year-round membership support strategies that increase girl and volunteer membership and enhance retention. Develop, cultivate, and support relationships with service unit and troop volunteers in assigned area to support delivery of Girl Scout programming.

Support troop leadership teams and caregivers in completing renewal of their Girl Scout membership on an annual basis. Communicate that membership registration is a requirement of participation in the Girl Scout program.

To provide customer service to all persons who contact the college via the Call Center and responsible for the implementation of special projects in support of college enrollment and retention activities.
The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Two years of experience working in a customer service position.
Ability to use a PC, software programs and office machines. Computer proficiency with an understanding of Microsoft Office.

The hourly rate is $12.00 . These positions have been approved for up to 28 hours per week. These positions are eligible for regular part-time benefits (i.e. vacation, life insurance, etc.).

This position is responsible for ensuring a safe and orderly environment in which all members of the college community can pursue their educational and professional goals. This position plans, implements and evaluates programs that protect life and property; provides services and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and community members; provides fair and equitable access to college facilities; and assures compliance with state, federal, and college regulations. About the Department: Clark College’s Security & Safety Department is comprised of non-sworn personnel that includes a Director, a Sergeant, an Administrative Manager, an Emergency Management Specialist, Communications Officers (dispatchers), Campus Security Officers and Office Aides that support the Lost and Found function. The department supports main campus with 24/7/365 coverage as well as support for our satellite campus in eastern Vancouver during that facility’s operational hours.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer, plan and implement security services for all college properties, including oversight of the hiring, training, and supervision of all department personnel.
Oversee and manage the operating budgets for the department.
Oversee, revise and enforce college policy related to security and emergency management.
Oversee, revise, and enforce department Standard Operating Procedures.
Serve as a subject matter expert to support projects, policy development or other college operations, as needed.

You must also be able and willing to respond to crisis situations, including physically intervening with youth who may be violently acting out; this may involve the use of restraints. All Juvenile Custody Services Specialists must have the ability to regularly go up and down stairs.
Some positions are assigned to work in a secure residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Services treatment program for youth of all genders who require a staff secured, out of home placement for assessment/evaluation, stabilization and transition planning.
The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including overnight, swing, weekends and holidays. Some positions are assigned to work in a secure residential Behavioral Rehabilitation Services treatment program for youth of all genders who require a staff secured, out of home placement for assessment/evaluation, stabilization and transition planning.
The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including overnight, swing, weekends and holidays. JCSS work on a continuous duty shift, meaning that you may not be relieved of duty during your work day. This position is also designated as Operationally Essential .

Communications/Reporting: Engages in regular communications with Training Specialist regarding course updates and latest changes to products/services. Actively submits unavailability requests, as necessary, in Skedulo when not available to be assigned to classes. Submits training activity and other course related records according to standard timelines. Where applicable, training and course-related records must be submitted electronically using the American Red Cross web-based learning center. The instructor is required to use the corporate email account (@Redcross.org) issued to him/her upon hire, for all American Red Cross related correspondence. Standard Schedule: Tuesday , Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday The salary range for this position is $20.00- $22.00 an hour. Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Current certification to be an instructor in discipline is desired. Additional training and certification will be provided to qualified candidate after hire through American Red Cross Health & Safety Service courses. Once certified, the instructor must maintain current basic and instructor level certifications for the courses they have been hired to teach. Experience: Previous experience in education, adult training or service industry preferred. Basic computer and email skills and demonstrated ability to utilize MS Office programs Comfort and experience in using audio-visual technology (computer/LCD, PowerPoint, etc.) for educational delivery. Skills and Abilities : Must have strong presentation abilities and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate course material in a clear and understandable manner. Customer service orientation. Ability to teach effectively in an adult learning environment. Other: Flexible schedule required during the day, evening or weekends. Travel: Ability to travel regionally 50-75%. Current Driver’s License is require. Access to reliable transportation to training sites. The employee must have the ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand and understand the speech of another person. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
