The Access & Instruction Specialist is a permanent, full time staff member of the Access & Instruction Team at the College of Charleston Libraries who works primarily at the Access & Instruction Desk in Addlestone Library. Directly supporting Pillar 1 in the College’s Strategic Plan, this position impacts our students’ College experience and success by providing academic support and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students feel they belong. Under the direct supervision of the Circulation and Shelving Manager and the direction of the Access Services Coordinator, the Access & Instruction Specialist provides excellent point-of-need access and instruction services (in-person and virtually) to all patrons; works with members of the Access and Instruction Unit to promote the College Libraries’ spaces, resources, and services across multiple channels and platforms to increase student engagement and success; assists with supervising and training student employees; and ensures library systems and facilities are operating as expected.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma and 2 years of library/information services experience or a bachelor’s degree and 1 year of customer service experience. Ability to bend, stoop, and lift material up to 30 pounds. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Working evenings and Sundays is required.

Excellent customer service skills. Technologically proficient with Windows and iOS software operations, scanning technology, and Microsoft Office programs. Fluency in content creation and content management; confident in navigating social media platforms; creative, detail-oriented, and resourceful. Ability to teach others basic research and technology skills. Ability to prioritize job duties and multitask. Must be flexible, adaptable, and demonstrate enthusiasm for changes in technologies and services. Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work and troubleshoot issues independently as they arise. Must be able to lead projects involving clearly defined, time-sensitive outcomes.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Knowledge of current library systems, computer databases, basic library research methods, and information resource management preferred. Experience with and proficient use of access services components of integrated library system(s) and SpringShare LibApps Platform (or similar library services platform) preferred. Proficiency and experience with using Canva software to create promotional materials preferred. Familiarity with WordPress or other blogging platforms preferred. Typical work week during regular semesters is Sunday – Thursday, 12pm – 8pm. This shift serves as a backup for the Sunday-Thursday, 4pm – Midnight shift. Hours and location are subject to change and may be revised as needed, especially during summers, holidays, and days when classes are not in session.

What you will do!
As a Privacy Compliance Officer (PCO), you will support Information Security and Privacy Office (ISPO) through delivery of agency compliance and effectiveness of the privacy program that follows the agency mission and all relevant regulations.
The PCO is a shared service position servicing Oregon Department of Health of Human Services (ODHS) and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) (Hybrid entity) as the HIPAA Privacy Officer as required by law.
In this role, you will be responsible for working with all levels of management in OHA and ODHS, other state agencies, and external community partners etc. The PCO’s main role and function developing and managing the privacy compliance program, perform audits of compliance including audit plans, risk assessments and remediation plans, investigations and resolutions, and compliance and privacy related policies, procedures, education, and training in collaboration with our Awareness and Education Coordinator. PCO reviews contracts related to third party access including contractual agreements to support data protections.
Additionally, will support all reports of compliance issues and prepares reports and corrective action plans as directed by the Privacy Manager. The PCO works with agency partners to ensure access control, secure data sharing, disaster recovery, business continuity, incident response, and risk management for both HIPAA covered and non-covered entities.
What we are looking for!
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) plus years’ experience in security and privacy investigations, drafting, negotiating, and managing a variety of contracts.

The Patrick A. Lucero Library Branch Manager provides leadership in a community library with focus on encouraging visits, circulation, program attendance, and use of digital resources. The Branch Manager manages a staff and is accountable for achieving key results. This position works collaboratively with the management team on programming, services and change initiatives. Management of the facility, grounds and fiscal responsibilities are key elements of this position.
The Library Manager reports to the Associate Director of Public Services and manages a team of exempt and non-exempt employees. This position has overall responsibility for customer service at the branch; resolves escalated issues and addresses problems as they occur. The Lucero Branch Manager works closely with other departments including support services. Builds relationships and partnerships in the community that support and expand library services, programs, and events. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and monitors work improvement plans as needed. Handles employee relations issues with assistance from the Human Resources Department.

Participates in the development of the branch budget and annual goals. Develops projections for future needs in resources and staff to meet goals and objectives.

Job Summary
The Program Assistant assists the Board of Equalization with hearings and all clerical functions. The work typically involves heavy administrative components and liaisons with the Assessor's Office. Responsibilities include project/task planning, implementation and day to day administration of program responsibilities. The Board of Equalization assists in the administration of property valuation used for tax purposes, providing an impartial forum for property owners. If a property owner disputes the assessed value of property, the Board of Equalization will hear the owner's appeal and make an informed decision. This is a free process. Hearings are held on an individual basis consistent with property policies established by law. The board is an independent body organized to process and hear appeals of various determinations made by the county Assessor's Office. It is comprised of three citizens and up to four alternates appointed by the Clark County councilors to provide an impartial hearing environment that protects each party's due process rights and results in a fair decision. The Board of Equalization hears and decides appeals concerning the numerous types of determinations, including: changes to real and personal property valuations; denials of senior citizen/disabled exemptions; denials of home improvement exemptions; decisions regarding historic property; forest land classification determinations; current use determinations; destroyed property determinations; and claims for either real or personal property tax exemptions.
Qualifications

The Program Assistant assists the Board of Equalization with hearings and all clerical functions. The work typically involves heavy administrative components and liaisons with the Assessor's Office. Responsibilities include project/task planning, implementation and day to day administration of program responsibilities. The Board of Equalization assists in the administration of property valuation used for tax purposes, providing an impartial forum for property owners. If a property owner disputes the assessed value of property, the Board of Equalization will hear the owner's appeal and make an informed decision. This is a free process. Hearings are held on an individual basis consistent with property policies established by law. The board is an independent body organized to process and hear appeals of various determinations made by the county Assessor's Office. It is comprised of three citizens and up to four alternates appointed by the Clark County councilors to provide an impartial hearing environment that protects each party's due process rights and results in a fair decision. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, the Program Associate/Librarian works with the Community Engagement Department, Branch Managers and other library staff on all aspects of adult, teen, and children’s programming, exhibitions and events; assists in the planning, development, and implementation of programs; facilitates internal communications necessary for successful execution of programs; and enhances community partnerships through outreach efforts.

Works closely with, and to support, the Program Supervisor on all aspects of programming.
Works closely with, and to support, the Program Supervisor on purchasing, tracking and follow through on ordering processes for materials for CCPL programs.
Assists with the coordination of adult, teen, and children’s programming, exhibitions and outside program presenters; including planning and development.
Works collaboratively across CCPL departments to conduct or coordinate joint programming and outreach.
Checks the event listings on the CCPL event calendar to ensure that accurate and appealing program information is shared.
Assists with scheduling programming and outreach activities.
Maintains awareness of trends in youth services and issues affecting youth.
Reviews program survey feedback on a regular basis and shares feedback and recommendations on programs to Program Supervisor & Community Engagement Director.
Participates in planning for the county with input from youth services staff and other stakeholders.
Assists in developing strategic partnerships and serves as a liaison to community agencies serving children, adults and special populations.
Assists with collecting and analyzing statistical information and prepares regular reports for the Branch Managers, Community Engagement department and Library Executive Director.
Researches and modifies ways to evaluate programs and services to garner the most accurate information.
Assists with the coordination and the facilitation of programs. Collects data to prepare reports; maintains program records and evaluates outcomes. Makes recommendations based on outcomes.
Assists in the development of programming policies, procedures, and departmental activities.
Provides a consistently high level of service to others by assisting with requests, or locating appropriate resources for the request.
Works at different locations throughout the CCPL system as needed.
Attends meetings and participates in committees and organizations that further the Library’s mission and goals.
