Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated above and the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in industrial engineering, occupational health studies, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, safety management, risk management, human resources, or a closely related field is highly preferred.
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in municipal risk management, occupational safety or other related field including accident investigation and analysis techniques. Training in basic first aid and CPR is required.
Knowledge of: Principles of accident prevention, industrial hygiene, and safety. Extensive knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations governing occupational safety and health, specifically but not limited to the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA) and Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA). Training program and material development, including effective training techniques. Personal computer and applicable software used in analysis, program, and plan development.
Ability to: Interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Evaluate county facilities, equipment, materials, and employee work practices to determine hazardous conditions and instances of non-compliance. Use risk and vulnerability analysis techniques to develop creative solutions to complex problems. Provide advice to county personnel on safety rules and regulations. This position provides cyber risk, compliance, and security expertise in areas such as software development, access and control methodologies, operations, continuity planning, and the entire system life cycle. This position assists in ensuring that business security requirements are accurately reflected in technical specifications and that the department has appropriate security integration throughout all systems development. This person will have a key role in the analysis and evaluation of security design, development, testing and implementation of complex security infrastructures.
The person in this position may serve as a chief architect, analyst, or consultant for ongoing security related activities. The goal is to provide appropriate access to and protect the confidentiality and integrity of ODHS and OHA information in compliance with federal/state regulations, agency security policies and standards and contractual obligations. The person in this position will assist the Chief Information Risk Officer in the overall security of ODHS and OHA information systems, networks, and business continuity planning. This person is a security consultant for information security issues and incidents. This person will provide technical guidance for the development and implementation of departmental security policies and procedures. This person may also be required to develop and review security requirements for initiatives and projects. Compensation Information
The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $125,000 to $172,000. The Applications Administrator is proficient technically and provides operational support to stakeholders (faculty, staff, prospects, students, and alumni) for multiple critical enterprise applications and customer-facing business administrative systems for the College. Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma and work experience in the administration and management of software applications in an enterprise environment is required. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to be proficient in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex enterprise software applications preferably in higher education or a related setting.
Working knowledge of systems architecture, systems planning and design, network operating systems, and software application management.

Job Purpose
The Applications Administrator is proficient technically and provides operational support to stakeholders (faculty, staff, prospects, students, and alumni) for multiple critical enterprise applications and customer-facing business administrative systems for the College. The Applications Administrator consults with Senior Applications Administrators and Management to perform complex system and/or application installations and upgrades.
Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma and work experience in the administration and management of software applications in an enterprise environment is required. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to be proficient in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex enterprise software applications preferably in higher education or a related setting.
Working knowledge of systems architecture, systems planning and design, network operating systems, and software application management.
Knowledge of, and experience with, Windows and/or Linux/Unix systems administration, light SQL experience, light scripting, and application support.
Ability to understand and carry out technical instructions in order to perform application system installations, upgrades, and integrations.
Must have experience with database technologies and/or client-server technology.
Must possess analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Familiarity with service management methodologies preferred.
Experience with monitoring tools and analytical tools preferred.
Familiarity with enterprise backup, storage technologies, and open source technologies a plus.
Ability to plan, organize and follow through multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient written and verbal communications skills.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other IT staff, business stakeholders, and vendors.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Employee must be willing to work flexible hours including occasional nights, weekends and holidays and be on call 24 hours/day, 7 days/ week. Must be able to travel periodically for professional development. *Position may be eligible for full-time or part-time telecommuting
